Mr. Adams is a Marine Transportation System (MTS) Cybersecurity Specialist for the First Coast Guard District, based in Boston, MA. He is currently standing up a new MTS Cybersecurity program within the First Coast Guard District.
Mr. Adams earned his B.S. degree at Radford University and graduated from Boston College with an M.S. in Cybersecurity Policy & Governance. He is a certified Governance, Risk, and Compliance Professional specializing in developing principled performance and organizational effectiveness. His skill sets focus on identification of cyber risks and interdependencies within the maritime domain, arising from information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) systems, and innovating solutions to harden cyber defenses.
Previously, Mr. Adams spent over twenty years in the commercial claims and risk management industry, working for several large national and global insurance organizations. He also served as the Risk Manager for the Olympic Yachting venue during the 1996 summer games. Mr. Adams is also an occasional guest lecturer at the Boston College and Stevens Institute of Technology Cybersecurity programs, on topics related to National Security, Cybersecurity, Intelligence, Risks and Ethics.
