Vincent Lagny is the head of cybersecurity department at Bureau Veritas Marine and Offshore since 2018. His department is in charge of cybersecurity projects and rules development to secure operations and business activities on ships’ IT and industrial systems.
For over 15 years Vincent has been an undisputed leader in the space, naval and defense industry for Thales and Naval Group. He has founded the Naval Group corporate Security Operation Center, which he managed during 8 years, developing effective and widely recognized techniques and strategies to detect & counteract cyber security attacks, implemented later for combat systems of Navy ships.
Being a pioneer in cyber security and digital support services, Vincent has been working since 1990 to secure data transportation for communications industry, conceiving innovative cyber security solutions for a wide range of operating systems and low level languages.
Vincent is the current Chairman of the Cyber Systems Panel at the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) where he supervises unified requirements and guidelines for maritime cyber security. He is also an active member of the Advisory Group at European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA).
Vincent has an unsurprising passion for all things linked to electronic, computing, software development, robotic, data science, artificial intelligence and quantum computing. He also deeply enjoys running, hiking, taking landscape photographs, listening to jazz, composing music, drawing and writing.
